At Centre Reognition it will be agreed which curriculum sectors your centre wishes to offer. Once agreed, this gives the centre access to the range of qualification units within those sectors. A list of approved units will be sent to the centre after Centre Recognition.
From this list the centre is able to construct courses to meet the needs of its learners. the centre must notify OCNEMR of these courses via the Curriculum Development manger for the centre, using a Course Notification form. This form details the titles and levels of the units, the purpose of the course, the title of the course which will appear on certification and the intended credit target for those engaged on the course. (The intended credit target determines the accreditation charges for each learner on the course and is subject to monitoring).
In addition to National Qualification units it is possible to use local units in courses. However these must be agreed with the Curriculum Development Manger prior to delivery. Please be aware that some older units are no longer valid and delivery of these units without agreement may mean that learners will not receive accreditation. Units that are currently considered to be of an appropriate standard are available on the website. Login on the home page, using the user name 'user' and the password 'query'.
At the beginning of each academic year each centre will receive a list of the national and local units that have been agreed for their use. If the centre wishes to use any units other than those listed they must contact their Curriculum Development Manager before delivery. OCNEMR cannot accredit learners with units that have not been agreed prior to delivery.
