STANDARDISATION

Standardisation is a process by which we endeavour to ensure that there is consistency in the application of level and credit across the country and across the region.  it also allows the identification of good practice and informs future development and amendment of units, qualifications and assessment methodology.

The national standardisation schedule is supported by the regional schedule.  Regionally we call for samples of portfolios for a regional standardisation to inform us of local practice, this is then used to select samples to send forward for national standardisation.

The outcomes of each of these events culminates in; action for N/OCN and a public report that identifies the major findings of the event.   The latest public reports are available via the links below.

Centres that have awarded on the units that are selected for standardisation will be contacted to provide samples of assessed learners work prior to the event.  Samples should be of the complete unit, include the assessment decisions and the internal verification report relating to the sample.
