Intended Credit Target/Value
This is the number of credits that an average learner undertaking the course is likely to achieve. Bearing in mind that a credit is equivalent to 10 nominal learning hours, an estimate of the intended credit target can be made on the basis of the number of hours the course is running for, e.g. a 10 week course at 3 hours per week is likely to mean an intended credit target of 3. Although if the course being delivered is at level three it might be that learners are expected to undertake independent study and the credit target might be 6. The credit target should not exceed the number of credits available on the course.
